Small Installations

Hello there

Very Important

All images for posts on     ainescannellartist.blogspot.com
this is the test website I worked on to try to get the nice result

must be sourced from your  Picasa/Blogger

server, dont upload your images from another server (i.e : Imageshack, Flickr, Tinypic etc because it will ruin the thumbnail posts on your blog.

How to install the template

Instruction to use this template
  • Download it from link above YES
  • Extract it, you’ll see a XML file YES
  • On your blog, click Template > Backup/Restore > Browse > select the XML file > Upload (see picture below) YES

I  DID ALL OF THIS AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE

1. Configure the post date
Change your Date Header Format and Timestamp Format to the following example:
config-post-date.png
2. Configure the rest things…
Since this is a gallery template, I have set the layout to fit 3 posts per row. Therefore, to make it beautiful you must set at least 3 posts on the main page. The rest ( did you mean to say "the other thing is " ?) things is, you must change the ‘Showcase images with Lightbox’ to ‘no’ (because I already installed a better lightbox in this template) and ‘Comment Location’ to ‘Embedded’ (to make sure your post comments is showing perfectly).

Here is an alternative way of expressing the above - if you wish to use it.
"As this is a gallery template, I have set the layout to to display 3 posts per row.  To maximize the presentation - you need to have at least 3 posts showing on the main page.
Please also note that where it says  ‘Showcase images with Lightbox’
be sure and click NO.
Also - In 'Comment Location' ensure that the option for 'Embedded' is chosen."
I  HAVE ALSO FOLLOWED  THESE INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE

See the picture below if you’re not sure about what you are going to do…

3. Configure social network links
Go to your blog > Template > Edit HTML, and search for this:
<!-- Start - Social Links  -->
below it, you’ll see all the website links, change it to your social media page link.
I have looked through the html code FOUR times and I cannot see this.
Please can you tell me
Is it for example past halfway down  or maybe a quarter of the way down (scroller bar) ?

4. Configure Top Navigation Menu

Go to your blog > Template > Edit HTML, and search for this:

I have looked through the html code FOUR times and I cannot see this.
Please can you tell me
Is it for example past halfway down  or maybe a quarter of the way down (scroller bar) ?
<!-- Start - Navigation Menu  -->
Below it, you’ll see something like this:
<!-- Start - Navigation Menu  -->
<div class='nav'>
<ul class='menu' id='menu'>
<li><a expr:href='data:blog.homepageUrl'>home</a></li>
<li><a class='drop-ctg' href='#'>category</a>
   <ul>
     <li><a href='#'>Category 1</a></li>
     <li><a href='#'>Category 2</a></li>
     <li><a href='#'>Category 3</a></li>
     <li><a href='#'>Category 4</a></li>
   </ul>
</li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu 1</a></li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu 2</a></li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu 3</a></li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu 4</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
<!-- End - Navigation Menu  -->
did you notice something like <a href=’#'> ? thats right! just
replace # with your menu item URL, (WHAT IS MEANT BY "MENU ITEM URL" ??)
Maybe
Prints
Drawings
Paintings
Sculpture
Don’t forget to change the menu name too!
WHAT IS MEANT BY "MENU NAME"  ??
and the
Most important thing, you MUST upload all images for posts to Picasa/Blogger server, dont hotlinking from another server (i.e : imageshack, flickr, tinypic) because it will ruin thumbnail post on your blog.

Question re Menu Item etc

I have a question about your instructions
I am trying to understand better what you are saying ....

This is the website where I came across your template being used:

On NAVIGATION bar towards the left of the screen of this website you can see

HOME                CATEGORY                ABOUT    ( is this what you mean by 'menu items'?)

OK I clicked on CATEGORY on the horizontal navigation bar

then two sub categories dropped down in a dialog box which said  "bozze 1"      and     "Incisioni"

I then clicked on   incisioni  and it took me to

is that what you meant when you said "replace # with your menu item URL"

I worked on this since 8 o clock this evening - now I am tired

I hope maybe I will have a reply from you but of course I understand if you are having too many lunatics like me getting in touch with you.

By the way if you want me to tidy up your written english like when you are writing instructions etc about your templates etc etc
I will gladly help you with this.  Just send them to me as soon as you can and let me know if you have a tight deadline I will do my best to help.

I lived in Spain for one year once - so I know how hard it is to try to learn another language and to write it etc etc

best wishes
